Current situation
FMI ITC infrastructure (networks, servers, etc.) are monitored by FMI IT department on a 24/7 basis using duty operators and automatic surveillance and alert systems.
Physical threats are handled using multiple cameras, electronic lock systems and a 3rd party company to monitor the area.
Systems are backed up by redundant UPS systems for short term power cuts and for longer breaks a backup generator.
The critical infrastructure is decentralized, and in some cases duplicated.
An alternative route for signal, data or products can be used to bypass any component and to ensure the processing capability.
Story
Activist against governmental policy have targeted several critical infrastructures run by authorities like Arctic Space Centre (ARC). Threats are expected to turn into actions including physical attacks and ARC has raised its readiness level. Critical infrastructure is being monitored more closely using software-based systems as well as human based observations.
